The Story
About me
I’m Cierra! I am a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, a wife, and a mama of 3 littles! I’ve been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 6 years and a pediatric nurse for 12. I have advanced training in nutrition, pediatric nutrition, obesity medicine, precision medicine, and youth training and fitness.
In my clinical practice, I have seen firsthand the degree of chronic illness our children are facing at earlier ages as a result of our lifestyles and environment.
Research supports that a child’s first 1,000 days of life (conception to age two) are the most critical for the development of their body, brain, metabolism, and immune system. The child’s physical environment, nutrition, and relationships may have a long-term effect on their well-being and health - including during pregnancy.
Ironically enough, this period is also arguably one of the most challenging for many mothers and parents. Adjusting to changes in their bodies, welcoming a new baby, navigating toddlerhood, work, and house demands, let alone trying to think about how to optimally nourish their rapidly growing child’s brain and body.
I quickly realized what my patients and families needed most….access to health education resources, quality food, and safe environments for movement, as well as the support they needed to make lifestyle changes.
My Why
It wasn’t until I became a mom that I fully understood the whole picture and truly understood the lack of support and education piece. Feeding kids and raising kids is HARD! No one teaches you how to be a parent, and the textbook knowledge and clinical experiences I had did not prepare me for my journey!
From breastfeeding to introducing solids to navigating the pickiness of toddlerhood. I understood WHY so many of my patients and parents I talk to are lost and struggling!
If I didn’t know what to feed, how to feed when to feed my baby, and what supplements to give all for proper nourishment and optimal health… and I have 10+ years of pediatric experience… how could they?
So I Created Bite Sized Wellness,
To be the resource I wish I had! I am on a mission to help bring education, resources, and support to families on HOW to make changes to their lifestyles that are going to truly nourish and optimize their health, LONG-TERM. Giving you exactly what you need to be successful in your health journey and parenthood!! Answering questions from real parents such as:

My goal is to educate, inspire, and empower you to take control of your family’s health, and give you the confidence and practical tools you need to do so! Always remember, YOU are the expert for your child!

I am a CrossFit athlete and have been doing it for 12 years.
I love a good home-cooked meal and a freshly baked loaf of sourdough.
I am terrible at song lyrics and will likely mess up every song… but I will still sing it with confidence!
I’m a sucker for some sweatpants and pizza night!
